In-Ear Monitoring was a natural progression
from wireless microphones. The vision of a wireless listening
system was realized by using a radio mic in reverse. In just
a few years it has become an indispensable item for thousands
of acts, great and small, all over the world.
Benefits are great, including lower on stage volume levels,
much reduced chances of feedback, less spill, better front-of-house
sound and more personal control.
Shure has produced a guide to introduce people to the world
of In-Ear Monitoring. There is a short introduction to the history
and development of in ear monitoring. That is followed by an
in depth look at the benefits to be gained. There are chapters
covering setting up in-ear monitors and using them, earphone
selection and types available, and specific application guides.
Included is an appendix that looks at RF Theory and the use
of combiners for multiple systems.
Being a Shure guide it is based around there PSM series of in-ear
monitoring systems, however most of the information is very
relevant to in-ear monitoring in general regardless of the manufacturer
you decide to choose. (The download file size is 1.93 mb.) |
